1962 THUNDERBIRD "M" CODE SPORT ROADSTER
RESTORATION

(Page 5)

... Sunday March 5th, 2006
I've been a little remiss at updating here. It's not because nothing is getting done,
(Sound familiar?)
I took another car into the shop for a local restoration shop.
It's a 63 Sport Roadster and they want me to assemble the top,
get the system working properly and install a new rag on it.
The car sat outside for quite a while and the relays and limit switches
are in bad shape. I replaced 6 of the 8 relays and am in the process
of taking the limit switches apart and cleaning or replacing them.
I believe the wire harness is shot too and I will replace that too.
I have one from a parts car I saved.
As you can see in the pictures below, I got all the suspension and
"underneath" parts all primed and painted black.
I also have the new seam sealer applied to the body shell.
I'm in the process now of making all the body parts nice and
straight. I should be ready to prime in about 2-3 more weeks
if things go smoothly.
I received all my parts from Nicks Tbirds and everything looks real nice.
The new red Leather seat covers are beautiful. I can't wait to get
to the point of putting the interior in.
